Description
Climate:
The weather of 2013 was very variable on all French appellations, with the exception of Languedoc and Provence, of course. In fact after a snowy and cold winter, spring was cold and wet. This delayed the vegetation between 15 days and 3 weeks. Then from the month of May, high temperatures and low rainfall allowed the vines to reach their full potential and give us nice ripe grapes.
Soil:
Clay-sandstone stony red links wine, particularly well draining that promotes the production of quality wines.
The vines:
Syrah 55%, Cabernet-Sauvignon 25% et Carignan 20%.
Harvest:
Optimum maturation of grapes, the harvest is goes into a crusher-destermmer before tank. Follows a fermentation and a long maceration (4-5 weeks) to extract the maximum of aromas and tannins. The wines are matured barrels for one year, 1/3 new barrels, 1/3 are from one wine and 1/3 from two wines.
Tasting:
Brilliant Ruby, net color. An expressive nose with great elegance, aromas of red and black fruit very mature. A few touches of vanilla, mouth very advanced, complex, closed notes, toasted. Tannins are present but well melted. This wine is very flavourful but is going to improve. Generous and spicy, this wine is excellent with all meat, cheeses. It is very good with all your regional cooking.
